Printer setup (LaserJet 5M) in 9.1 ?
Hello, Is the network printer setup working in 9.1 ? I have a HP LaserJet 5M, which works fine for Windows clients but not for SuSE Linux 9.1 Pro workstations ? Does anyone have this working and if so how did you accomplish this ? Dee

I have an HP 4000TN which is a network printer. Works with 9.0 and 9.1 and Windows, etc. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S. Whether you use YaST2>>Hardware>>Printer or (in browser>>http://127.0.0.1:631/), the 5M should have a JetDirect card. So, the URI in my setup is socket://YourPrinterIPAddress(mine is 192.168.1.101):9100(denotes the first JetDirect port, else 9102, 9103, etc.). I have seen them like "ipp://localhost/printers/LJ5M, but I have no idea how to set it up. Mine is JetDirect, so I took the easy way out. Yast will let you confirm the IP Address and the 9100 port before Finishing. In cups admin, you just have to know. Hope this helps.
