Hi All, Have setup Audacity using the YaST tool in SuSE 8.2 and understand it needs libmp3lame.so to do converts to mp3. I had installed glame but I guess that wasn't enough. So....I went online, found and downloaded this: lame-3.93.1-1.i386.rpm and I think it installed properly. I just click on these .rpm files and YaST opens and things seemed to have gone alright. I have the executable file lame in the /usr/bin folder but when I click on it, nothing really seems to happen. And I cannot find the libmp3lame.so file Audacity needs so I can't do the mp3 converts. Any help here? Thanks! JeepNut __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Hotjobs: Enter the "Signing Bonus" Sweepstakes http://hotjobs.sweepstakes.yahoo.com/signingbonus

lame is a command line program. Please refer to it's manpage for help.

If it is installed properly and since your lame is in /usr/bin, libmp3lame should be in /usr/lib. Charles -- "sic transit discus mundi" (From the System Administrator's Guide, by Lars Wirzenius)
