[opensuse] Network Gurus - Why is RedHat Contacting my Webserver?
All, (network guys/girls), During a routine dump of network traffic I stumbled upon a short (14 packet) bit of communication between my web server and (209.132.178.69) (RedHat). (packet summary attached) It wasn't so much alarming as it was a "WTF is that for?" I'm curious if anyone knows whether or what it looks like the communication was for? Net topology survey? Linux verses other server count? Let me know if anybody has an idea regarding what it is. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
Hi David, This IP is part of a block which belongs to the PaaS/IaaS product run by Red Hat known as OpenShift. Since this is a public cloud application service, this could be anything from a malicious port scan to research on web server configurations. Thank you, If that is the case, most likely it is a script-kiddie looking at my ports... -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
