---- snip --- (Who asked:) Did you install the shlibs5 rpm from your SuSE cds? You will need those to run WP8 (and probably Applixware too) on the newer distros. These are the old libs needed to run the old programs not supported now. Once you have those libs installed, WP8 (Applixware) should start right from the (your sourcce). If you only have the downloaded version, then it should be accessible from the shell. Patrick (note i edited slightly Patrick's email--- but i think his answer applies to your situation. If I am wrong i am sure somebody will correct me (I hope I did this right so your thread isn't messed up) __________________________________________________________________ Try AOL and get 1045 hours FREE for 45 days! http://free.aol.com/tryaolfree/index.adp?375380 Get AOL Instant Messenger 5.1 free of charge. I'm using applixware 5.0 under SuSE 8.2 and it works the same way as under 7.3, 8.0, 8.1.
Good to hear! Did you have to install any obsolete lib packages, or does Applix bundle what it needs itself? -M -- A billion seconds ago Harry Truman was president. It has everything you need, also during installation you can make an update of the suite.
I don't know what you mean by that... -- A billion seconds ago Harry Truman was president. A billion minutes ago was just after the time of Christ. A billion hours ago man had not yet walked on earth. A billion dollars ago was late yesterday afternoon at the U.S. Treasury.
