Hello Someone was talking about Xine some times back. I have been able to have it play VCD. But how can I make Xine play full screen? Thanks Ajay
As the FAQ of Xine states you ll need an xv (no the image program) enabled graphic card. At the moment there are only 3 type of graphic boards supported ATI, Maxtor and Nvidia (the official driver). You can check if xv is supported by your current setup giving the following command in a virtual terminal xvinfo and check the output after that while playing the movie you can press F to go to fullscreen. That's all, hope that helps. You wrote:

You should be able to right click on xine to do this, something I found very annoying when I only had a Mac mouse attached to my computer. Apparantly you can also press f. Of course you'll need a speedy computer to do it, now if only xine would work with my DVD card, I could say goodbuy to Windows forever. Jonathan Riddell
Thanks Jonathan I have done that. It does not work. The window stays the same size. If I am able to do that, I would noe be considering a second Hard Disk to install windows to watch VCD and DVD. Or maybe there is something wrong with my configuration. In my case I am able to watch DVD too. I was able to do that late yesterday. Nothing wrong I believed, coz I'm having the same problem. Tried on ATI, TNT2, Geforce256, all having the same size (watching movie with half price ticket?). Anyway, I used back mtv for bigger screen playback on VCD. Dennis/sg

Check out http://www.videolan.org/ I like this one better than xine, and the window scales nicely. If you still can't get full screen, some geometry options and xinit may help out. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.4 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE6r4cnHYysNB5h3fIRArRNAKCCOGGisELX+NKY6pDwd80VO2YaWwCfXdfi 5MvqjdxU9LmY4UsHvf4HuqY= =X1PD -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
Hello James, Re the link to www.videolan.org Thank you Thank you Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not been able to get Xine to work no matter what I tried. I downloaded this player from videolan, compiled it, and am watching the ABYSS now! All I had to do was execute the program! No setup no configuration and it runs like a charm! I have installed Videolan. It is good indeed. We can get full screen allright and there's less crash too and least I have not yet experienced any. Only one complaint, just at times it appears to be dropping some frames. Very rarely though. Also I cannot play VCD on that. Thanks Ajay On Wednesday 14 March 2001 10:58, James Oakley wrote:

I mam running a SuSE 7.1 system with the SuSE 2.4.2 kernel update and the SuSE LVM 0.9.1beta4 packages. Can someone from SuSE confirm whether or not the LVM package was built with the: #define LVM_VFS_ENHANCEMENT I am running into a problem with the mounting of snapshots with reiserfs volumes. Before I go pulling my hair out, I thought I'd ask a simple question. The error indication seems to fit the description of what happens if the VFS enhancement is NOT present. TIA - Herman

No, it seems like we did not set this one - thanks for spotting this! The following releases will have it. Sorry for the confusion - I was too quick! :) We just checked it once again - it has been set in SuSE Linux 7.1, just have a look at: /usr/src/linux/drivers/block/lvm.c Bye, LenZ -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Lenz Grimmer SuSE GmbH mailto:grimmer@suse.de Schanzaeckerstr. 10 http://www.suse.de/~grimmer/ 90443 Nuernberg, Germany Pretending sleep is the most common birth control device.
