Yes, the variable is set as follows: HTTPD_SEC_MOD_PHP=yes Bo ----- Oprindelig meddelelse ----- Fra: Bo Jacobsen Til: suse-linux-e@suse.com Sendt: 12. januar 2003 16:00 Emne: Apache1 - php4 not working in SuSE 8.1 ? I have installed Apache 1.3 with yast and everything seems to work ok. I have later installed the mod_php4 module but I can't make Apache run php code. When I specify a URL to a .php file the browser asks what program to open the file. I have seen some discussions about compiling the Apache and PHP source code but it looks as if it applies to problems relating to running Apache2 and PHP. Do the standard Yast installation of Apache 1 and PHP4 work, or do I also have to compile source code to make it work ?. I have looked into httpd.conf and I can see that it #includes the mod_php4.conf and suse_.... .conf file as expected. Any suggestions. Bo

Does your /etc/httpd/httpd.conf file contain the following?: # # PHP 4.x: # <IfModule mod_php4.c> AddType application/x-httpd-php .php AddType application/x-httpd-php .php4 AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps </IfModule> Did you restart apache after installing the mod_php? You can also try to run SuSEconfig again just to make sure all changes has been updated and then restart apache.. -- Andre Truter Software Engineer Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 AIM: trusoftzaf http://www.trusoft.za.net <-------------------------------------------------> < The box said: Requires Windows 95 or better... > < So I installed Linux > <------------------------------------------------->
