URGENT: Java 1.4.x & SuSE v8.x
1)
The setJava & setDefaultJava scripts all point to old versions of the
JRE/SDK from Sun. The new 1.4.x JRE RPM for Linux distributed by Sun does
not contain a JRE directory to distinguish it as a JRE from an SDK. After
relinking SunJava2 to point to the new JRE and running the setJava script
you get the message "SunJava2 is not installed" because of the JRE path
dependency.
2)
Do all scripts for configuring the Java runtime have to be modified manually
to support the latest version of the JRE for Linux which is installed to
/usr/java/
* Kevin Wilson;
I need to deploy a mission critical production web application and database server for which it will depend on JRE 1.4.x or higher but I would also like to be able to use the GUI environment to make administration a little easier than command line work is.
