At the risk of being wrong -- I haven't done this -- perhaps this is
the correct page:
http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/en/html/maddin_pcmcia.html
If it is, have fun! You have to recompile the kernel. See the Kernel
HOW-TO and the PCMCIA-HOW-TO.

Hi Corvin & other Susers
On Suse's FTP server under 6.4 i386 Patches and Bugfixes,
I have found 2 packages......
pcmcia --- pcmcia 3.1.16 : Avoids the module toshibas --> works with Dlink
DFE650
pcmcia_m -- pcmcia _m 3.1.16 : Avoids the m error on Toshibas --> works with
DFE650
The Hardware database info for DFE650 says that its kernel enabled .
Should I use either rpm with my Compaq Armada E500 ?
Regards
Anurag

Failed dependencies :
libforms.so.0.88 is needed by pcmcia_m-3.16.13
tried modprobe libforms.so.0.88 / insmod ....without success...
what do i do next ?

You could either ignore this dependency by using the RPM parameter "--nodeps", or install the package "xforms", which is needed for the graphical frontend to one of the progams inside the pcmcia package. Well they mention SCSI cards because that's one of the things you might need to enable PCMCIA for, I guess... I still think you have to enable PCMCIA as per the first part of the page. USe the KERNEL HOWTO and the PCMCIA HOWTO, read the documentation that comes with the pcmcia rpm (series a1 in the SuSE distribution media).
From the D-Link webpage:
The D-Link DFE-650TX is a Dual Speed Ethernet/Fast Ethernet 10/100Mbps PCMCIA card for notebook computers. ^^^^^^ ciao Corvin -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
