That's the problem. Something is fscked up with the plugin in 10/1.0.6 and 1.0.7 - it doesn't work. Opening as an external app does work.
I'd work on it but I want to be sure and read this first.
Works fine in 9.2 with Firefox 1.0.7 and FireFox 1.5
So try fireFox 1.5 from Mozilla. FF 1.5 doesn't have the plugin installed. (Now listed under "Download Actions.")
Oh well. At least they can open in Acrobat. -- kai www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part

Works here in 10.0 on a stock installation. [...] Kurt -- Anoint, v.: To grease a king or other great functionary already sufficiently slippery. -- Ambrose Bierce, "The Devil's Dictionary"

BTW: Firefox has been out of beta for quite a while. The stock version on
SuSE 10.0 is 1.07.
The way the pdf plugin should be installed to work is:
1. find out where firefox is installed:
/opt/MozillaFirefox/lib on SuSE stock releases.
2. in /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/plugins, you need to remove the symlink to
nppdf.so.
3. in /usr/X11R6/lib/Acrobat7/Browser, there is a text file,
Browser_Plugin_HowTo.txt.
There is also a script: install_browser_plugin
Run this script (as root), and install the plugin in /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib
when it prompts you. This will copy nppdf.so to
the /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/plugins directory.
At this point, you should be able to bring up a pdf properly from Firefox.
(Note: If you are not using Firefox from the standard SuSE location (/opt)
it may be in /usr/local/MozillaFirefox/lib.
