"Tool-Tip" info in Konqi
Hello Folks, I am a SuSE 82. KDE 3.1.1 user. In the past I have asked here about "Does KDE have a feature like the WinXP 'tool-tip' trick. It works like this > put the cursor on a mp3 file icon in folder> a pale yellow text display opens that contains the mp3 ID3 tag info. I know that KDE 'Properties' box has a cool "Meta Data" tab. But today I have been playing with Knoppix w/KDE 3.1.1 and [k]noticed that in Konqi when you put the cursor over a mp3 file a big yellow text box opens that has all the 'properties' info, including the ID3tag info, but on many of the mp3 files a second smaller yellow text box opens with just the file name and ext. I have never seen that smaller box in SuSE-KDE . On SuSE Konqi seems to display the whole fileneme and ext under the icon no matter how big, but in Knoppix they are all cut off after 10 or 15 char, and followed with { ... }, so the question is how do I tell Konqi to abbreviate the file names to a certain length and then popup the full file name in the tool-tip box? I'm sure it is in the "Control Panel" but I haven't found it; and I have been lookin at the SuSE and Knoppix CPs on adjacent monitors to compare them. Can anyone help out? Thanks ................ Never seem this one. I fail to see the purpose of it, since the full name is shown in the status bar. Charles -- "On a normal ascii line, the only safe condition to detect is a 'BREAK' - everything else having been assigned functions by Gnu EMACS." (By Tarl Neustaedter)
