Regarding my situation with NFS: This is some relevant (lines I think!) from my Boot.msg this morning: Header: Inspecting /boot/System.map-2.4.19-4GB Loaded 20607 symbols from /boot/System.map-2.4.19-4GB. Symbols match kernel version 2.4.19. Loaded 137 symbols from 9 modules. klogd 1.4.1, log source = ksyslog started Skipped lines And then Starting RPC portmap daemon<notice>'/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S09SuSEfirewall2_setup start' exits with status 0 <notice>/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S09portmap start <notice>startproc: execve (/sbin/portmap) [ /sbin/portmap ], [ CONSOLE=/dev/console TERM=linux SHELL=/bin/sh INIT_VERSION=sysvinit-2.82 REDIRECT=/dev/tty1 COLUMNS=106 PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin vga=791 RUNLEVEL=5 PWD=/ PREVLEVEL=N LINES=34 HOME=/ SHLVL=2 _=/sbin/startproc DAEMON=/sbin/portmap ] done <notice>'/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S09portmap start' exits with status 0 More skipped lines, and then; Importing Net File System (NFS)<notice>'/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S11SuSEfirewall2_final start' exits with status 0 <notice>/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S11nfs start mount: RPC: Program not registered mount: RPC: Program not registered ^G failed I turned off the firewall on the workstation yesterday evening; still no luck!
