Did you allreay run rpm -V on your installed apache rpms ? If this is really 11.3 I would then open a bugreport at bugzilla.novell.com and wait for a fixed apache package. Just because 11.3 is still under development ( and therefore opensuse-factory would have been the better list to post this). You could also try what happens if you just create an empty include.conf. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It is supposed to be created at start time by the init script. It should reflect the setting of APACHE_INCLUDE_* in /etc/sysconfig/apache2. I just installed and started apache on my M6 testbox - worked just fine. Maybe this problem is limited to the 64bit version? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (11.1°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I guess you used apache2ctl when trying to start Apache. That script is supported only if you take care of the the entire config yourself. But on openSUSE, you would rather use "/etc/init.d/apache2", "/usr/sbin/rcapache2" or "service apache2". That will call a "proper" init script which makes handling Apache a breeze. It checks the config before attempting to kill Apache, makes sure that Apache has cleanly shut down, and even supports graceful restarts (in addition to graceful reload). It also happens to generate /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d/include.conf, which may be missing if you never ran the script after installation. Thank you for the tip. I was indeed using apache2ctl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
