Damaged CD1 for SUSE-Professional 9.1; replacement sought
A faulty drive ate my CD1 for SuSE-Pro 9.1. I have the DVD, of course, but I would still like CD1 back. Googling seems to show pretty clearly that that CD is NOT available, legitimately, anywhere. Can I make my own, I wonder? I can get INDEX.gz from the damaged CD1, and I guess I could use that to build an iso from the appropriate files from the DVD. But I don't know how to make it bootable, and not even 100% sure that all the files needed at boot time are listed in INDEX.gz (but I think so, for comparing the DVD's contents to its INDEX.gz). It sounds like less of a pain than going back to the original supplier and begging a new CD1. Any help/pointers would be much appreciated. -- Neal Holtz http://www.docuweb.ca/~nholtz Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K1S 5B6. nholtz@docuweb.ca

If you know someone else who has it, you can always make a copy. Incidentally, this is why it's always a good idea to make a copy and put away the originals.
