Rusty, YMMV but SuSE has been my desktop OS for the last two years. It works for me and I have found it to be cheap, effective and stable. :To cut to the quick of this matter, it seems that the only HTML editors :for Linux are the same old sorry text editors, i.e., jed, joe, pico and :every masochist's dream vi and all of it's incarnations. You could try IBM's TopPage: http://www.jp.ibm.com/esbu/E/toppage/index2.html Or Quanta: http://quanta.sourceforge.net/ Or Bluefish: http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/ Or Webmaker: http://www.services.ru/linux/webmaker/ Or CoffeeCup: http://www.coffeecup.com/linux/ Or just pick one of the others from freshmeat: http://freshmeat.net/appindex/x11/editors.html Hope this helps, Thom <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2//EN"> <HEAD> <META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="MS Exchange Server version 5.5.2650.12"> <TITLE>RE: [SLE] Is Linux Ready?</TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <FONT SIZE=2>Rusty,</FONT> </P> <FONT SIZE=2>YMMV but SuSE has been my desktop OS for the last two years. RE: [SLE] Is Linux Ready?Hi all, just wonder if anyone know or have a solution to run Lotus Notes (v4.x) under Linux? I am unable to locate any client for Linux from IBM site. (so far) If you happened to have some workaround like using wine or whatsoever, please post it here for everyone's benefit. Thank you. Firstly, switch off HTML when posting to this list. Many people don't read email with a browser. In answer to your question, there isn't a Notes client for Linux, and there won't be for a long time, if ever. The head development honchos at Lotus have said the whole source is tied to MFC, so a port would basically mean a rewrite. There have been some reports of success with some versions of Notes running under some versions of Wine, but it's not a sensible solution. I doubt it ever will be, although WineLib seems to do it's job moderately well these days. I've not heard of Lotus experimenting with WineLib though. No, you're basically out of luck. Vmware is your only hope. That works fine.

Isn't the above link offering Notes for Linux?? No, it's offering the Notes server (called Domino) for Linux. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
