Hi My spouse has a page that konqueror does not show correctly. It usually display first few line, then keeps loading, but does not show anything more... Netscape does show it correctly. There should be no "fancy" stuff in that page, just a table, text and pictures. Could someone else verify this... but beware, the page has a lot of pictures! (it is a picture story of a car-project that we did.. it's a Fiat 500). Address is: http://personal.inet.fi/cool/fiat If it is a konqueror problem, I think it should be reported back to KDE. Jaska.

Using Konqueror 2.1.1, under KDE 2.1.2, I can confirm that it is screwed - and yes, Netscape displayed it correctly... Cool car, BTW !! Jon

I just checked it out using Konq 2.2.1 and it displays quite nicely. Table seems to be correct, and all the pix appear to be in the right place. Just can't confirm it as I don't read Finnish that well. BTW Nice car. Looks like you did a ton of work on it. How long did it take? Mike -- Powered by SuSE 7.1, Kernel 2.4.8 KDE2.2. Seems that it's an old bug that's been fixed then. My konq 2.2.1 displays it fine. What version are you using? -- Q: How do you tell if an Elephant has been making love in your backyard? Hi We are using konqueror 2.1.1, and others has reported the same problem with that version, but it seems to work with 2.2.1, so it is a question of upgrading our KDE. Thanx Jaska. Viestissä Sunnuntai 14. Lokakuuta 2001 14:11, Tom Wesley kirjoitti:

But of course Web pages should be viewable from any browser! ;-) I'm not
convinced that this is a 'bug' in Konquerer, more that it's not as forgiving
with 'poor' markup. The nested <div> and <blockquote> are the problem I
suspect.

Hi I agree.. it must be the M$-front-page stuff that is spooking here... She did those pages in her prior-life before Linux, so it has these weird non-standard html-stuff that M$ keeps putting to their SW... Well, it will be made with some Linux-tool in near future, so that problem should disappear. I did upgrade her xfree and KDE, and now it works, but as You said, it is not the solutions to the original problem. Jaska. Viestissä Sunnuntai 14. Lokakuuta 2001 20:47, Martin Webster kirjoitti:

You could introduce her to Quanta Plus or Bluefish. These are both very nice GUI HTML editors. My wife will often take a look at what she is working on in these editors as well as Dreamweaver. I think this is why she is so tickled to run OSX...she has access to so many good tools..including GNU software. * Jaakko Tamminen (jtamminen@satabaana.net) [011014 11:51]: ->Hi -> ->I agree.. it must be the M$-front-page stuff that is spooking here... -> ->She did those pages in her prior-life before Linux, so it has these weird ->non-standard html-stuff that M$ keeps putting to their SW... -> ->Well, it will be made with some Linux-tool in near future, so that problem ->should disappear. -> ->I did upgrade her xfree and KDE, and now it works, but as You said, it is not ->the solutions to the original problem. -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ----- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin
I just used Konqueror 2.2 and Opera 5.x on my SuSE 7.1 box (kernel 2.2.19) and
the page loaded properly, I then checked it with my Winblow$ box just to make
sure it showed properly and compared the two. No problem here at all, although I
cannot read Swedish.
Nice pictures, I can only guess at all the work you put into that car.
Good luck tracking down your problem.

I can, but it doesn't really help as the language on the page is finninsh :)

I tried the page in konqi, opera and mozilla, and each browser has its own way of handling the images. In mozilla, for instance, the images end up way down on the page. In konqi there's hardly any spacing between the images, and in opera they display in the way I imagine it's supposed to be. All of them are readable. regards Anders -- ICQ: 132715168 YM: cicerose
