you are not specific enough in stating your problem. when setting up samba you can do many things wrong. I suggest you do read all chapters of this item first: http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/samba/chapter/book/index.html mk

I installed samba, read the man pages, read the HOWTO, changed the config settings, set IP addresses for the windows machines, but all to no avail
Do I need to mount the windows drives before I can see them?
How come I don't see any reference to the network in dmesg?
I can't see Linux on the W98 machines either.
I also get a 'failed services in run level 1 - networker' message
help me before I go and buy shares in microsoft...
