For example, I can save atext.rtf (with an error message), but then if I try and save atext.sxw ... bang, crash.

Any thoughts gratefully received. I've had a nosey round but the error is so fundamental ... it's bound to be something I've done ..

------------------------- Bryan, My first thoughts on this is that you have installed it for a local user instead of Workstation setup which it should be. As workstation, it will install as if you have a network and you will be a user of this package. It will install a small set of needed files in your /home directory for the user, but you will be able to save files etc as user too!
