Hi All, I'm in the process of upgrading the home studio. At present, the MIDI interface I have is an old parallel port one that only works with Windows 3.11 (!!) I want to replace this with a newer USB-based MIDI interface (ideally rackmount but I'm not too worried about form factor.) Although I do have a Win2K box available for music, I'd very much like to have an interface that will also work with ALSA so that the Windows box can be put out to pasture ;) Note that I'm after USB MIDI only - I don't need any usb audio capability. Ideally, I'd like 2 inputs and 4 separately adressable outputs (yielding 64 MIDI output channels) but a 1 input/4 output solution would be ok. It does appear that some of the USB units out there are supported (in theory) by ALSA - e.g. some of the MidiMan ones. Does anyone here have experiences (good or bad) to share, recommendations etc?
