Has anyone in the UK who has subscribed to the SuSE updates heard when we are likely to receive version 7.1? I've not seen anything about the situation over here. I'm not impatient, just wondering. Cheers Keith

Hello Dave. Sorry, but I think that you have misunderstood me. I was referring to the *subscription* updates, which I believe are posted directly to we subscribers from SuSE in Germany. It's where you subscribe to at least the next three updates and get them at a discount. I was wondering if SuSE had posted them yet. Cheers Keith

Hi I've been wondering that too. I e-mailed suse@suse.de (the address on my delivery note for the last one) a while ago asking them to change the delivery address on the next one but have had no response. Is ther anybody else we can ask ? cheers Mike

Is ther anybody else we can ask ? ========================================================================== Mike, I just ordered the subscription for the first time from SuSE. On the order confirmation that I got back from them it said that I should send all queries to order@suse.de. I sent them an e-mail to change something but did not get a reply back. Hope it works out OK. I'm in China at the moment but am having my copy sent to a (lazy) friend in the UK. When you get your copy could you drop me an e-mail to let me know so that I can chase my friend up to mail it to me in China. Thanks, Jethro

I don't know who to ask. SuSE here in the UK tell me that the updates come directly from Germany and they have nothing to do with them. Perhaps we will just have to wait and see if the update arrives in the next week or so. It would be nice to know when to expect them, though. Cheers Keith

I don't quite expect Amazon like service from SuSE but a few more e-mails would be nice. Maybe an e-mail when they start shipping just to say 'Hey, we've started shipping orders to XXX country, you should find a nice parcel on your doorstep sometime in the next 10 days. Have fun!!' would be nice. Jethro
When will the shipment reached Singapore? my neck is getting longer these days... :( Dennis/sg

I have just received the following message from SuSE. Not good news :( ***************************** Dear SuSE customer Thank you for your order. Due to manufacturing difficulties in the production of our CDs, there has been a short delay in the processing of orders. We hope to fulfil your order within the next 10 days. We apologise for this delay and any inconvenience caused. If you have any further questions, please call the sales helpline on 020 8387 4088. Kind regards Your SuSE Team **************************** It's better to know than not to know, but how come all the CD's have reached the US and are clearing customs but 'my' CDs have got held up in production? Anyone else in the UK got one of these? Jethro

last night (2/20) while on the phone to my credit card security office (wanting to make sure that my Amazon UK charge was legit) they told me that I had just been charged for a copy of SUSE. so.... chas -- Charles L Hamilton Houston, TX email: chasm@schuetzenmeister.org To rejoin the old (AR-15) RELOAD-L list. As I have said twice before. Give SuSE a break. At least in the U.S. With the layoffs and restructuring it may take a bit more to get the product out into the wild. Everyone will get it and as I said ..it's way worth the little bit of wait that the public will have to go through. These are good people and they are trying very, very hard to get everything right. Hello Ben. In my original posting asking if anyone had heard when we in the UK were likely to receive our subscription version 7.1, in no way was I knocking SuSE. As I made clear (or so I thought) I was merely wondering if anyone had heard when we were likely to receive our subscription updates. Just an innocent query? That is all it was meant to be. Cheers Keith
Hi Keith,
Did you get the 'in about 10 days due to production difficulties' email?
I suppose we'll have to hang on in patience ... tricky.
Best wishes

It's ok. It wasn't directed at you..just an FYI in general. Yes!! I am afraid I am not impressed especially as the US disks are already in the country. Also I received the e-mail 2 days after the supposed release in the UK. I went to the effort of pre-ordering and am paying a premium on delivery charges --- for what? - Stu "The specification said Windows 95 or better, so I installed Linux"

Hello Fergus Has your e-mail come from SuSE? I haven't heard anything at all from them, only what has been posted to the group. Cheers Keith

I normally buy from a nice local supplier who give a nice big discount. I thought this time after all the discussion on this list that I would make sure that all my money goes direct to SuSE. Then again mistakes/accidents/problems do happen. I've just decided to go with the flow and be happy when the box finally arrives whenever that maybe. Of course if this is repeated in the future I might change my opinion. Jethro
