Hi everybody. After a fresh install opf SuSE9.1 I notice that I get a hiss on my speakers until I open the volumes control (Kmenu->Multimedia->Volume Control->Volume Control) and set the slider labelled "Digital1" all the way down. When I reboot that slider is back up to the top again, and the hiss along with it. Is there a command I can use in a startup script to automatically set Digital1 to 0? By the way, the mute button for Digital1 doesn't work. Thanks in advance. -- JAY VOLLMER JVOLLMER@CONSOLIDATEDLINT.COM TEXT REFS DOUBLEPLUSUNGOOD SELFTHINK VERGING CRIMETHINK IGNORE FULLWISE

Suppose you use Kmix. Then start up Kmix, and enter Switches. There you shall switch off the IEC958, and click on file and quit. That way the change will be saved. -- Med venlig hilsen - Best regards Erik Jakobsen - eja@urbakken.dk Licensed radioamateur with the callsign OZ4KK. That's fixed it. Thank you. -- JAY VOLLMER JVOLLMER@CONSOLIDATEDLINT.COM TEXT REFS DOUBLEPLUSUNGOOD SELFTHINK VERGING CRIMETHINK IGNORE FULLWISE
