How many people here plan on hammering the SuSE servers to download 8.2 when it becomes available? Since they don't offer iso downloads (making you pay for that, which I am planning on doing), and since getting only part of the distro would be nearly impossible (making it a, what?, 7 or 8 GIGAbyte download), I was just wondered how many people go about getting it that way. Thanks and regards, dk
I plan on having my company buy it an use it here at work. I like to support suse in there good job of putting out a VERY GOOD DISTRO. jack malone At 03:08 PM 4/9/2003 -0500, David Krider wrote:

I'm on dialup, with very bad phone lines (30 disconnects per hour is normal). wanna calculate out the time it would take me to download (assuming my time is worth, say, $1 per hour), vs the cost of downloading it? i'm sure I could Download it. and finish the download just in time to start on 8.4 Joe -- If you're not a little bit uncomfortable with your position, it isn't radical enough. whoops. that should have been "vs. the cost of buying SuSE" -- If you're not a little bit uncomfortable with your position, it isn't radical enough. How can you be TOO principled? Sounds like something SuSE might want to put on their web site - "vote: how are you getting your SuSE distro? buy/download" I've already ordered mine. /Hans

I usually download mine since I am a poor high school student. However I am seriously thinking about buying it since SuSE puts out such a superiour product and I want to support them. However i'll probably buy a copy for my home computer and download it for my servers ;). -- #------------------------ #Eric Bambach #Eric@CISU.net #------------------------

Why? You could just buy one copy and install on all systems... John -- John Pettigrew Headstrong Games john@headstrong-games.co.uk Fun : Strategy : Price http://www.headstrong-games.co.uk/ Board games that won't break the bank Fields of Valour: 2 Norse clans battle on one of 3 different boards
Well... I am one of them... I have more than 30 SuSE servers/routers (and
growing every week) on a 60Km radius, so... it's part of productivity to
have a ftp install available on my network...

Radu
