Hallo,
Just with my quick browsing of your message, it looks like the kernel is setup to probe for that particular type of SCSI chipset made by NCR
Yep thats right. Its a Diamond Fireport 40 card (spit) but it uses this driver.
It is also my assumption that the same segment of the source is attempting to use something setup for SMB mode w/SCSI devices... Do you have any SCSI devices in your system?
OK. Ive posted this from a compile done on another machine, but it exhibited the same problems as the one that I want to install the sound card into. In that machine I do have a SCSI card, but from what you have said, my best bet is to make sure that I have the option in only for the card that I have installed?
Your post was about sound cards... ?
Yep. I'll get back to you on this later. I guess that I really need the problems that Im having from the actual machine and cant make do with the same config on a one with different hardware. Please excuse my newbie-ness.
Forgive me if it takes me a bit to reply to your reply - my system crashed badly last night, and I am typing this on an 486 SX 33Mhx w 4 MB SIPP Ram...
Not a problem at all! I appreciate your reply. Cheers Dave -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
