Are you using IMAP? Squirrelmail does not do POP3. -- John K Masters - User #417400 in the Linux Counter http://counter.li.org/ No trees were killed in the creation of this message. You need to enable one or both of these. I'd start with enabling imap first. Then configure squirrlemail to work with Cyrus. Go to /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail and run './configure' without the quotes. There is an option to let that use default configuration with different imap servers, choose Cyrus. I have cyrus running with squirrelmail, and I like this setup a lot. I used uw-imap previously, but find cyrus to be a much better solution. I run only imaps, but there is an additional step to get that to work with squirrelmail, you have to set up stunnel on your server, as squirrelmail will not work with imaps directly. This is doable, but get it working with imap first. I reading Sandy's recommendations, you do need to set up your mailboxes in cyrus first. Read the docs at /usr/doc/packages/cyrus-imapd/README.SuSE. Set up system user 'cyrus'. Then use cryadm to set up your mailbox users. Be patient. Once you get it set up, it'll work great. squirrelmail checks imap (well, unless there is a way to configure it otherwise, which i have never done). what transport is your squirrelmail configured to get mail from? you might need to install imap. cheers, jonathan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You based your questions on wrong assumptions, no wonder you ended up empty-handed. Cyrus has a proprietary storage system, so you need to configure Squirrelmail to connect to Cyrus. If you have mail in /var/spool/mail you have probably not configured Postfix to deliver mails to Cyrus. I won't even ask if you have logged in to cyradm and created the neccessary mailboxes for Cyrus or how Cyrus is authenticating its clients. Can you log into Cyrus using an imap client? If not, fix that first. You need a working imap server to get Squirrelmail to work.

Forget procmail and qpopper for the moment and try to get a working mail system up first. Try to configure it through yast, it will probably save you a lot of work. -- List replies only please!
