I believe the xwtools (http://xwtools.automatix.de) contain a small utility called "epsUtils" which does just that. I have an Epson Stylus Color 850 and this utility allows me to check the ink levels, launch a test page, launch a cleaning or toogle D4 mode. If I remember correctly, the xwtools are shareware. But the epsUtils are just opensource. Last time I checked, I could download the whole package, pick up the epsUtils tarball and use it separately, without installing anything from the xwtools. - -- Thibaut Cousin E-mail : cousin@in2p3.fr Web : http://clrwww.in2p3.fr -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE908uIv1vqsTa1E4oRAoxUAKC0Rz5ZM/d9bs5CzRO1CFZNv2NsRwCfYOn3 /BLXvSBBZINvF8AgcShYD9o= =Il4V -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I've jus been on the site. The direct like to what you want is: http://xwtools.automatix.de/files/epsUtils.tar.gz I don't know if the C70 is supported, but I know this program supports USB. - -- Thibaut Cousin E-mail : cousin@in2p3.fr Web : http://clrwww.in2p3.fr -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE908wQv1vqsTa1E4oRAhx7AKCqq/haHUvzNDqpyJkZW/lvDr6oewCgvjAH Lp5wXboLcqKnUhxWAZvnKnE= =Jk3/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Excellent application. Works out of the box and there is a custom rpm for SuSE 8.1. To confirm: it works for all current Epson printers. Thanks, Steve.

You're welcome. What RPM package did you find? One for epsUtils or one for mtink? I found an RPM package for mtink, but not one for epsUtils. - -- Thibaut Cousin E-mail : cousin@in2p3.fr Web : http://clrwww.in2p3.fr -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE909ztv1vqsTa1E4oRAh4fAKDMM6KE+uLSLOZOne0HjjEmYMqvTwCgkk6I HlNyBxls+xnQpz3LAvHZ56w= =qKjX -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

No, no, I have this one. I thought at first that you were talking about a RPM package for epsUtils. - -- Thibaut Cousin E-mail : cousin@in2p3.fr Web : http://clrwww.in2p3.fr -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE90+A6v1vqsTa1E4oRAn3nAJ46TxZrOGkcSy9nlfPeiynXmfC7aQCfQL86 2lK4ZjecboEVT+JItmWBbx0= =FTzb -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
