Hello Linux folks! This problem sounds the same as mine. I installed multiple ports (COM3 COM4 LPT2 GAME-PORT) non-pnp ISA card. I compiled SHARED_IRQ_ENABLE option into the kernel. My Linux box can work with COM3 and COM4 and doesn't see LPT2 port on this card. I want to connect my second printer to LPT2. Could somebody point me where is a problem. Thanks, Alex

Hi folks.. My scanner (HP 3200) hate my printer (lexmark 1000) and I can't connect them all to the same parallel port (the only one in my motherboard Asus P2B). So I bought a new parallel port EPP/ECP not pnp to connect on Isa slot. Windoz can see the new port, but Linux can't.. How to make my new port work in SuSE Linux too? Do I have to recompile the kernel? I don't think so, since I already have LPT support on it..
Read the comments in /etc/conf.modules pertaining to parallel ports. Go to Windows, see what *it* sets the IRQ, DMA, etc to, and mimic them in /etc/conf.modules. If this does not work (which it should, but may not), you might need to read up on the ISA PnP Tools package.
