I went to their site and Linux is not listed as a supported operating system. Are you using Acronis True Image with Suse? Jerome

dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdc Will do full copy from the master on IDE bus 0 to the master on IDE bus 1. Because of the way the ide bus works, it is much more efficient to go between two masters. if you have bad blocks the "-conv=noerror,sync" will tell dd to null fill any bad blocks. Greg

OK, another question. What if hda is larger than hdc? And if hdc is larger than hda, how do you get it to use the extra space? Thanks Hans

Are you talking about copying a hard drive to some other media such as DVD or to another hard drive? Don Henson
