Help! I'm trying to find and install rpms for PHP4 and mod_perl on 7.1. So far it ain't been fun - I've found mod_php4 for 7.1 as an update but can't find it or PHP4 on the CD's. Also looking for a whole host of other goodies such as: perl-Tie-IxHash so I can install mod_perl plus a whole gaggle of libs, (see error messages below!) mwfolsom@xxxxx:~ > more 7.1-issues root@xxxxx:/home/mwfolsom/rpms.001 > rpm -Uh mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4.i386.rpm error: failed dependencies: /usr/bin/php is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libc-client.so is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libcurl.so.0 is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libgd.so.4 is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libltdl.so.0 is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libmcal.so is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libmcrypt.so.4 is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libmysqlclient.so.10 is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libpdf.so.1 is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libpq.so.2.1 is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libsablot.so.0 is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libxmlparse.so.1 is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 libxmltok.so.1 is needed by mod_php4-4.0.4pl1-4 Tried to do searches on Suse's site but nothing came up. Please cc any replies to me at my other email address: mwfolsom@swcp.com Thanks - Michael P.S. - Not to bitch too much but some form of index that told me which RPM's contained which libraries would be VERY, VERY helpful! It doesn't even have to be searchable - just an alphabetical listing would do quite nicely!

During YAST2 software installation, click on the option to display all packages instead of by category. They will be in alphabetical sequence. I bought the Professional 7.1 not the upgrade this time and they are there. Gary Gary W. Marklund No Microsoft products were used in the production of this email.

Gary: Thanks- But seriously I went through each of the 3 cd's (I bought the personal version) and COULD not find ANY RPM that said php4 on it - Additionally, I installed EVERY RPM that had the word "perl" in it and still can't install mod_perl because I don't have "perl-Tie-IxHash". I've tried searches at the SUSE site and at google and not RPM is available - I'm wondering - could they have included different stuff in the Personal and Professional vresions of 7.1? Surley not that would be very Micro$oft to do so - Thanks - Michael

Have you ever wondered, why the Personal Edition only ships on 3 CDs, while the Professional comes on seven? Of course we include different packages on these two versions. SuSE Linux Personal is a subset of the Professional Edition, aimed at beginners. However, you can add the missing packages using the ftp version, which should be available shortly.
