Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Just a general question
I have SuSE 5.2, the free version. While I do like a lot I see, the on-line doc's leave a bit to be desired. My question is how good is the book that comes with the commercial version? If it is good enough to allow some of the changes I need to make to the system, then I will buy it. If not, I will probably stay with COL for awhile longer. Second question is : Should I wait for 5.3 to ship? Is there enough there to want to wait, or should I just get 5.2 and be happy? As a newbie to Linux I have to say that the manual that came with my version (5.2) was a godsend, it does lend itself more to the beginner
Hey Mike,
I'm Raymond, I bought SuSE Linux for about 1 year ago. On e of the reasons
I'm hooked on it, is because the documentation, (in the book) goes further
where other distribuntions stop. Though ofcourse it isn't a complete
manual, but alot of things just clear up a mist, so that the online docs,
are better understandable.
And yes you should wait for 5.3, the book is thicker (more info), and it
comes with one extra CD (not 4 but 5), CD's that means more packages. The
release date for 5.3 englisch is set for the 27 th of August.
