Hi All, I am porting a device driver and using the kernel source base provided along with the Suse 8.1 prof. distro as the base. Wanted to know if I port the driver using this source base would it also work on a RH distribution. Basically what I needed to know was can I rest assured that my port would be valid across all 2.4.xx kernels, and that Suse has not done any changes to the original kernel distro.? If it's going to be distrubed as a binary only module then you will most certainly have to provide a module for every kernel it's used on. If you are going to distribute the source then it can just be compiled/installed on whatever box you put it on providing the box has the kernel sources installed on it. Mark
