[opensuse] system tray removal?
Whenever I use zypper for anything these days, on all 3 of my leap installations, I get this message: --------- The following application is going to be REMOVED: "System Tray" --------- It doesn't actually ever remove the system tray, but it always says it is going to. Anyone else getting this, and anyone else have an idea what is going on? -- George Box: 42.1 | KDE Plasma 5 | AMD Phenom IIX4 | 64 | 32GB Laptop #1: 42.1 | Plasma 5.4.7, Qt 5.7.0 | Core i7-4710HQ | 64 | 16GB Laptop #2: 42.1 | KDE Plasma 5 | Core i5 | 64 | 8GB -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

it "removes" it before replacing it. you are seeing a some-what mis-leading msg :) -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You'll notice it states "application" not "package". -- Ken linux since 1994 S.u.S.E./openSUSE since 1996 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It removes and replaces the System Tray application every single time I use zypper to install or remove anything, without any further indication? Because it shows up every time, and it never actually indicates that it removes anything related to the system tray. Here is an example - I just installed a simple one package application, xcalc. It says it is going to remove System Tray, but never indicates that it actually does so. ------------------ # zypper in xcalc Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... The following NEW package is going to be installed: xcalc The following application is going to be REMOVED: "System Tray" 1 new package to install. Overall download size: 36.1 KiB. Already cached: 0 B. After the operation, additional 98.3 KiB will be used. Continue? I checked here and got: # zypper se -s "System Tray" Loading repository data... Reading installed packages...
