Hi! I wanna know if it is possible to me to install windows 2000 in dual boot with linux even if Linux is already installed. I need it... My computer runs only with SuSE Linux 8.0 Pro. It is installed on the first disk and takes all the space of it. I don't have any other OS installed. For some programs and particulary for my girlfriend, I need to install Windows 2000 in dual boot but I don't want to have to format all my linux because I take a while to make it woking the way I want. Can I install it on the other disk to dual boot with my linux without having to reinstall linux? If yes how? Thanks a lot

Lilo or grub will boot w2k or linux ok ~ maybe, its good to have a very small /boot partition say 50 MB at the very beginning of your hard-disk. w2k may prefer to be on next partition, so, perhaps :- /dev/hda1 could be 50 mb boot partition /dev/hda2 for w2k /dev/hda3 for linus ....................................... if you need to move your existing linux partition, then <tar> is good friend :- tar clf - . | ( umask 0; cd /mnt; tar xvf - ) .............................................. best wishes ____________ sent on Linux ____________

It works fine, although bear in mind that windows will not play fair with your MBR. You can either use the NT bootloader, or repair SuSE's back to the MBR, which is a lot easier... cheers, Ben
