Hi. I just wanted to know which library version does SuSE 6.3 use? Is it the same one as SuSE 6.2? Or has their been another major version change as per 6.1? The reason i ask is because i need to use an updated package from 6.3 on a 6.2 server right away.. Before i can finish testing 6.3 for any bugs that may pop up on our set up. Thanks for any help anyone can give me :) Cya Matthew Matthew King: Sys Admin, Quakers Hill High School. My ICQ#: 2342475 Message me! No major changes like from glibc 2.0 to glibc 2.1.

You shouldn't do that. SuSE Linux 6.3 uses glibc 2.1.2, SuSE Linux 6.2 glibc 2.1.1. Programs from 6.2 should run fine on 6.3, but programs compiled with a newer glibc must not work with an older version, but they could. OK.. I will grab the source for the program that i want to use and make a new source rpm.. Anyway.. I think it will be more up to date than the one in SuSE 6.3 since there was a new release a few weeks ago :) Thanks for the help.. It probobly was better that i ask before i do :) I am not a programmer you see. Cya Matthew Matthew King: Sys Admin, Quakers Hill High School. My ICQ#: 2342475 Message me!
