I've tried it and if I wasn't so hooked om KMail it would be my main mail client. I usually download Thunderbird and Firebird nightly builds once or twice a week. The junk filter in Thunderbird seems to be pretty good. Olle -- War does not determine who is right, war determine who is left. Registered Linux User 61169 http://counter.li.org Magick! Bettie Page! I have used them for a while and it works great. The on problem I have had is that the plugins folder needs to be modified in the installation directory to get macromedia and java to work correctly instead of jut editing your own dot folder in you home directory.

I've been running it for about the last year and have had no issues other then when I try to print a webpage to a .ps file. Which isn't that big of a deal since I have Mozilla 1.5 installed and I can do it via that version. I really like Firebird and can't say enough good things about it. :) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===--- #147972 ---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.

I'd be using it if I could get the AA of the fonts to look like Mozilla. I can't get the AA of fonts in firebird to look as good as Mozilla :( -- Jason Pratt themadtux@tampabay.rr.com Registered Linux User # 334419 Registered Linux Machine # 219697

As has been posted on the list many times. If you run the "gnome-settings-daemon" in the background and set the fonts in the gnome-control-panel then it will always look great. I've had no problems with this setup since James (ULB fame) hipped me to it. The only thing that was a PITA was that I had to use the gconf-editor to turn off xscreensaver, but other then that..it's been smoooooth sailing. :) Give it a shot..I see absolutely no reason it shouldn't work. But then again I've been reading the bitching on the CrossOver list about the CX plugins not working in 9.0 yet they work for me in 9.0 so maybe I'm just lucky as hell. ;) Cheers! -- Ben Rosenberg ---===--- #147972 ---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.

And I hate to reply to my own email. But I misread Thunderbird for Firebird. OOPS! ;) The wife uses Thunderbird. She likes it a lot..and she's quite picky so I guess that's a good vote. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===--- #147972 ---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.

I am using Firebird and Thunderbird on this Windows platform at work and Mozilla 1.5 on SuSE 9.0 So far the only annoying thing I have found is that neither Mozilla mail or Thunderbird has a reply button for this kind of list. I still have to reply-all and cut out the individuals name so he doesn't get a double reply Like others, I too want to know the right way to tamper in order to get the plugins to work. I saw that SuSE 9.0 has a slightly outdated Mozilla so I got the latest from Mozilla. The plugins didn't work after the update but I discovered /opt/mozilla/bin/add-plugins.sh so I opened it with kwrite. I changed line 13 to PREFIX=/opt/mozilla and ran the script. All the plugins were back in Mozilla 1.5. Has anyone else tried this? Just for fun, just now I downloaded and installed Mozilla Firebird. I copied /opt/mozilla/bin/add-plugins.sh to where I put Mozilla Firebird. I edited it, changed line 13 to PREFIX=/opt/MozillaFirebird and changed mozilla-bin on lines 20 and 21 to MozillaFirebird-bin. I ran the script and all the plugins are there in Mozilla Firebird.
