Thanks in advance.

Since this server comes with: Storage Controller Channel Qty2 Controller Interface TypeSCSI-3 Ultra3 Wide (16-bit), Ultra160 SCSI Form FactorIntegrated Installed Qty1 TypeSCSI Why not use scsi drives, I know they are more expensive but they come with a 5 year warranty where IDE drives now (AFAIK) only have a one year warranty. -- Ken Schneider unix user since 1989 linux user since 1994 SuSE user since 1998 (5.2) -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

AHHHH... Open eyes and engage brain before replying. Did you buy a raid controller with the server? The two onboard SCSI channels are -not- raid ports, they are standard SCSI ports. If you want to use these with your drives you will have to use software raid. -- Ken Schneider unix user since 1989 linux user since 1994 SuSE user since 1998 (5.2)
