I had a really hard time setting up fetchmail and procmail in 9.0 but i finally got it to work. But now when fetchmail is running I get fetchmail: could not decode BASE64 challenge I did add ssl to each of my entries in .fetchmailrc poll mail.comcast.net with proto POP3 user 'efm_lists' there with password '@' is 'maurerfranklin' here options fetchall ssl mda "/usr/bin/procmail -d %T" user 'efmaurer' there with password '@' is 'maurerfranklin' here options fetchall ssl mda "/usr/bin/procmail -d %T" user 'franklinmaurer' there with password '@' is 'maurerfranklin' here options fetchall ssl mda "/usr/bin/procmail -d %T" Is it possible that the ssl has something to do with this? Will this cause a problem? TIA

You cann only use ssl if your provider has it enabled on their side. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

I added ssl to fetchmailrc while i was using 8.2. The error or message only appeared after installing 9.0.

Ah, I understand. Then, yes, there could be a problem with this version. Call it as "fetchmail -v", to make sure you get the debug messages (in '/var/log/mail' if you have "set syslog" enabled in your 'fetchmailrc' file). I suppose this way you will know where exactly you get the error. Perhaps you see a "capability" line in the log where the server states what it supports. Then, perhaps you can specify an option to enable/disable what doesn't work, or enable an alternative method in preference. I'm just guessing :-) -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
