I'm running SuSE 6.3 and it appears that my swap partition isn't working. In KDE, It shows "none" while in kpm, and /etc/mtab doesn't show it as mounted. When installing 6.3, I chose to use the existing partitions. Any ideas? I don't know about kpm but /etc/mtab won't show mounted swap partitions. `free' will show you the amount of swap space currently available: [root]/home/sttr# swapoff /dev/hda1 [root]/home/sttr# free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 193200 173160 20040 26184 46144 88268 -/+ buffers/cache: 38748 154452 Swap: 0 0 0 [root]/home/sttr# swapon /dev/hda1 [root]/home/sttr# free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 193200 173316 19884 26184 46144 88268 -/+ buffers/cache: 38904 154296 Swap: 289160 0 289160 Ciao, Stefan -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

It's my understanding that Ktop has a bug. In my SuSE6.3, Ktop also reports no use of swap, but xosview shows (tons) of activity when I open Netscape and Star Office. Also top shows swap and its usage. Alvaro Novo

Any ideas?
Thanks
