Greetings, Thanks for the english version of IMAP, Now one more question.. Could I use LDAP to replace windows PDC? I.E all windows 98, 2000, XP and LINUX computers will logon with LDAP auth instead of the old SAMBA / MS PDC method. And can it do roaming profiles? -- Chadley Wilson Research Technicain =========================================== Redhat Certified Technician Cert Number: 603004708291270 Pinnacle Micro Infinite Possibilities, Infinite Solutions Manufacturers of Proline Computers =========================================== Exercise freedom, Use LINUX ===========================================
Hello Chadley, Yes you can but not with a Active directory do it is coming to Linux also, the ldc will work as a old nt4 pdc the simplest solution would be to install samba-tng www.samba-tng.org which is samba but more tweaked to be working as a samba with ldap, or you could also give RHldc a try http://sourceforge.net/projects/rhldc but it requires Fedora to work. You might take a look at pGina, http://pgina.xpasystems.com, and LDAP Auth, http://pgina.xpasystems.com/?page_id=6. We have all of our linux boxes authenticating against our OpenLDAP directory via pam_ldap and nss_ldap and all our winblows (2k, xp) boxes authenticating against the same OpenLDAP directory with pGina and LDAP Auth.
