Hello Team Finally the November iso for SLICK (Suse performance enhanced release LIght, Core and Kde), please test and report back before I announce it to the world (ergo the website). With the new build server for SUPER set up things are moving again ;). I am going to create the accounts tonight to use the SUPER cvs and build server, if you have not yet told me you would like an account, here is your chance. The build server allows you to check in your spec file and SOURCES and have it automatically build and added to an apt repository. The iso is available from the usual place and is called: http://opensuse.linux.co.nz/ftp/pub/SUPER/iso/super-SLICK-final-20051110-mod... http://opensuse.linux.co.nz/ftp/pub/SUPER/iso/super-SLICK-final-20051110-mod... ftp://opensuse.linux.co.nz/pub/SUPER/iso/super-SLICK-final-20051110-modified-kde.iso ftp://opensuse.linux.co.nz/pub/SUPER/iso/super-SLICK-final-20051110-modified-kde.delta.iso The changes are: - New sources.list: rpm http://ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt SuSE/10.0-i386 wine rpmkeys base java update-drpm update-prpm update extra kde samba3 suser-agirardet suser-liviudm suser-rbos suser-crauch suser-jengelh suser-oc2pus suser-guru suser-gbv usr-local-bin suser-tcousin suser-scorot suser-scrute suser-jogley kolab packman packman-i686 kernel-of-the-day kraxel suse-people kde3-stable security-prpm security - Updated packages to the above sources.list patch level and all security updates from SUSE - gimp and some more gnome dependencies have been removed to create more space on the iso. Getting rid of Firefox could SLICK make this even SLICKER. I apperciate feedback if we should now completely concentrate on KDE and forget any Gnome/gtk apps in SLICK. - prelink has been disabled as it really just slows down the whole install with dubious benefits to the running of the system We all appreciate the work from many others at SUSE and especially from the KDE project that has gone into this. I also consider all the above repository maintainers indirectly part of SUPER and as such thanks to everyone for this fantastic KDE based SUSE release. A question: Should we start developing our own look and feel? Cheers Andreas
