POP Mail question
May sound like a stupid question, but it is something I haven't figured out yet. In SuSE 8.2 using Evolution to access a POP mail account on a remote server, does the mail go through fetchmail or postfix on the local machine or does it go directly to Evolution? TIA Art

IIRC, it goes directly to evolution. At least in the instance that you described above. -- Marshall "Nothing is impossible, we just do not have all the answers to make the impossible, possible."

I do not use Evolution but it seems pretty obvious that you can set Evolution, or any other mailer, to either take the mail from the Pop3 server, or from local spool. Tools > Settings > Mail Accounts > select your account > Edit > tab Receiving Mail > Server Type: select either POP or Local delivery. You could use Yast to determine if fetchmail gets the mail. To disable it, you could uninstall fetchmail. S.H.
