...Strangly enough if I where to run Windows I could get DSL service much cheaper at $199/month. Unfortunaly I hate winblows and won't run it.
Running windows is a requirement for DSL in your corner of the world? A method for getting around this is to install windows on a junker box just long enough to pacify a DSL installer. After the installer has left, you port the DSL modem, NIC, and settings over to a linux box and it's business as desired. Another option is to get the DSL service and pick up a cheap router (linksys has a cable/DSL router). This can be hooked up to easily configure the service and allow you to change the setting on your linux box to match and return the router. The problem with a lot of these services is that they do not know how to set the settings on a linux box, and have step by step instructiions on how to set this up on a Windows box (if this is someones job, no offense meant). These routers have step by step instruction on how to do this also, some of the services are including boxes such as these (ie. free router when signing up for the service.. Does @Home's TOS forbid running services? If so, dump 'em amd good riddance. Your money is better spent on a service provider that concentrates on providing you the bandwidth you pay for, without dictating what you can or can not do with it.

Yes, @home does forbid the running of servers. Usually they do not enforce their policy unless someone complains. Unfortunately, someone did. Victor On Tue, 2 May 2000, Argentium G. Tiger wrote:
