[opensuse] Install of openSUSE 11.1 fail on Jetway NC92-330-LF
Hi all, I've acquired new motherboard from Jetway, NC92-330-LF: http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/ipcboard_view.asp?productid=573&proname=NC92-330-LF openSUSE 11.1 fails to install on it, as it crashes before the load of any driver. However openSUSE 11.0 install on it perfectly ( well, almost ). However, made a kernel upgrade to openSUSE kotd 2.6.29-rc5 and all went well. The dual core atom 300 with HyperThreading is working like a charm with a x86_64 Kernel. My problem is that I would like to install openSUSE 11.1 on it, just because is a newer system so, here are my questions: 1) Can I boot with openSUSE 11.0 NET CD, and give the source install to the openSUSE 11.1 repository? If so I could also add another repository pointing to that 2.6.29-rc5 kernel. If all this worked it solves my problem. 2) Is it possible, in automatic or "semi done feature", to replace the kernel on the openSUSE 11.1 boot CD ? Or I'll have to do it "by hand". I can do this but... a little help might do the trick. Of course, if anyone believes I'm going the wrong way, please do let me know. I am experiencing similar problem with an Atom 230 mobo (Intel D945GCLF). I came across this http://forums.opensuse.org/install-boot-login/402136-kernel-panic-11-1-64bit... and upgraded the BIOS but have not had much success with the 64bit openSUSE 11.1. No issues with the 32 bit version though. Don't have a 64bit 11.0 handy otherwise I would have installed it on my system and be done with it. -- Arun Khan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi Arun, you replied to me as well. Thanks. As I've told you in the other email that CPU is no 64bits capable. If the only problem you have is not being able to install the 64bits of openSUSE 11.1, then you have no problem... I also own a N270 CPU like your on an Asus EeePC. However, It has openSUSE 11.0 ( 32bits ) on it. I will ( or try to ) upgrade it, this weekend... I will keep you posted. Thanks a lot for your help.
