I even didn't mention I had tried it on Linux. The bank itself figured it out somehow.
Doesn't require an Einstein, since you mentioned Konqueror :)
I've heard KDE 2.x can be installed on Solaris, too. So Konqueror is not a Linux-only SW. Well, the number of people running KDE on other platforms is probably very small ...
But if you get as far as "Register new payment", it seems unlikely that the ID string is the culprit. More likely, they've adopted a little broken HTML (aka IE code).
You are probably right. Anyway, I'll try to change the Mozilla identification. It hasn't helped in Konqueror.
If I were in your position (and I was, at one time), I'd switch bank and let Nordea know why. Föreningssparbanken works very well with linux.
Originally, my account was in Postbanken and I could access it from Linux. Then my account was automatically moved to Nordbanken. I still could use Linux but there were problems. Finally, Nordbanken was renamed to Nordea and the access from Linux has been blocked. I agree it's time to switch bank and I'm going to do it. -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
You can get Opera to identify itself as M$IE5 under File > Preferences > Network. The only site I've seen where it makes a difference is http://www.anadrom.com/ This is rather an amusing site anyway because it's owned by "web design uk and internet consultancy: anadrom ltd", who apparently know nothing at all about website design (they've only got one page ;-) but plenty about talking pish. JDL
Alexandr, As one last attempt, try this in Konqueror settings. Go to Settings>Configure Konqueror>User Agent. Turn on "Send Browser Identification", "Add Operating System Name" and then add the banks site to your listing below, describing the browser & OS type you want the site to see you as. I have successfully used it on some very heavy M$ & IE type sites and it may just work for you here as well. Konqueror may once again foil these stupid sites into working for us Linux users. Good Luck on your quest. Patrick --------------------------------- On Wednesday 02 January 2002 01:03 pm, Alexandr Malusek, went on about:
