All, I use AOO primarily, but since openSuSE packages Libre, I have been attempting to use it lately as well. I could not get LO to see/recognize my existing custom dictionaries? I started to ask this as a question, but then stumbled around long enough to find the solution. So here is the setup and solution I found. If anybody knows why LO doesn't automatically enable the custom dictionaries like AOO, that would be good information as well. I use and keep 3 dictionaries and move them between installs. With openoffice (legal, tech & standard), you just put them in the wordbook directory and you are automatically prompted which dictionary to save a word in. In AOO the dictionary location is: ~/.openoffice/4/user/wordbook/ In LO: ~/.config/libreoffice/4-suse/user/wordbook/ In Libre office, you must manually tell LO to use a dictionary by selecting (checking the box) next to the name of your custom dictionary in Options->Language->Writing Aids. With AOO, it automatically enables custom dictionaries found. Thankfully both AOO and LO both still use flat-text files to store entries, so you can use symlinks to keep a single version of each dictionary between both. -- David C.
