Guys, I need help. I working on SLE9 box, that has a DVD-RW hooked up to it, but I can't see it. I know it there because cdrecord see at 1,0,0 but I don't know how to translate that to something I can mount. This box has SATA drives and they show up on /dev/sda. I have tried to grep in message for this SCSI and I see this messages-20080624.gz:Jun 23 14:15:39 mail kernel: scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices messages-20080624.gz:Jun 23 14:15:39 mail kernel: Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 messages-20080630.gz:Jun 29 21:24:56 mail kernel: scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices messages-20080630.gz:Jun 29 21:24:56 mail kernel: Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 messages-20080704.gz:Jul 3 08:03:36 mail kernel: SCSI error : <1 0 0 0> return code = 0x6000000 But still have no clue if that /dev/sd(x). -- -- Command, n.: Statement presented by a human and accepted by a computer in such a manner as to make the human feel as if he is in control. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

But still have no clue if that /dev/sd(x).
Didn't cds and dvds appear as /dev/sr0 etc back in those days? list /dev/cdrom and see what it points to. -- ----------JSA--------- Sig line deleted for the humor impaired. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Try with "hwinfo --cdrom" Ciro -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Maybe because of that error the cdrom does not appear. Try any or all of these: scsiinfo -l wodim -scanbus hwinfo --cdrom - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
