Subject: SCSI problem
I have a problem with an external SCSI hard drive on bootup. If
the drive is
added to /etc/fstab, at bootup I get the error 'bad superblock'
and the
bootup ends. If this drive is removed from /etc/fstab, bootup is
normal
and the drive can be mount at the command line with no problems -
/dev/sda1 /new. I suspect the problem is that the advansys
driver has
not been loaded when the system attempts to mount the drive.
I have the following complied into the kernel: SCSI support, disk
support,
tape support, generic support, probe luns, advansys driver. With
these
items complied into the kernel I still have to have the advansys
driver
in boot.local. (At least I thinks these items are complied into
the
kernel. I complied it with these items as yes)
How do I get the advansys driver loaded before the system mounts
the
hard drives?
Any help or ideas please. Hope I was clear enough in stating the
problem.
