Hello, thanks for your answer, Per. I am using the last stable bios from the Asus Website. Is it normal for these bioses to report "wrong" model-numbers? And does this mean that there is no error? About performance: I am using this machine for all kinds of things. Webdesign, php-programming, downloading, a it of gaming and some home-video editing. I guess I need a bit more ram, though. cheers Morten

I don't know how normal it is, but it's quite normal for the marketing-department to be using different names than manufacturing.

So you probably need a good allround machine - maybe just check out the archives for "performance". More RAM is always good, but 1G is enough for a lot of things. /Per Jessen, Zürich

I do think my system is acting a bit slow, though, and my harddisk seems to be making a lot of noise. Could this be a driver problem? Is there something I need to install to get better performance; like nForce drivers or some special Sata-stuff? thanks a lot for answering!! Morten

Run 'top' in a shell to see what process(es) are running and how much cpu and memory each is consuming... maybe the beagle search tool is still indexing? regards, Carl

It is quite normal for marketing departments to use words that *no one* else uses -- marketing departments are where politicians' speechwriters go when they grow up.
