Anyone got this thing to work properly? It says that Hylfax is running, but does not send. The manual is totally useless as I am not getting any error messages, so can see no reason its not sending anything. Any ideas? It has to be something simple...Yes read the manual, no help at all. Matt

Have you configured your modem? I've been using Hylafax, it sent without problems, but it was back in January. The only thing I did manually each time was something to reset modem, don't remember it exactly. But that was because I half configured Hylafax, I used it for sending only. -Kastus

In addition to having Hylafax running it is necessary to have faxmodem (sending only) or faxgetty (sending and receiving) running I use faxgetty -D /dev/modem It this is working ok then you may be trying to send the wrong file type. I think you are limited to Postscript and Tiff. Brian Marr On Wednesday 25 July 2001 09:57, Konstantin (Kastus) Shchuka wrote:

For the record its working fine now, although during the script I asked for the modem speaker to be on, yet it turned it off. Having the noise is very useful for diagnostic purposes. It turned out to be that modem group, once I added the word modems to modem group it worked, albiet not perfectly as it says that the modem is waiting to be reset (and it will send in this state). Guess it needs fine tuning for that and for recieving (although need to play with faxgetty more for this). Btw the modem is an external Creative Labs USB modem on an external hub, not bad huh? Thanks for the help, Matt
