[opensuse] kde 4.3.4 - konqueror is dead: Cannot load library /usr/lib64/kde4/dolphinpart.so undefined symbol??
Listmates, After the most recent updates in kde 4.3.4 for 11.0, konqueror is dead. It begins to load, but then an error appears saying it cannot load dolphin part complaining about an undefined symbol: There was an error loading the module Dolphin View. The diagnostics is: Cannot load library /usr/lib64/kde4/dolphinpart.so: (/usr/lib64/libqimageblitz.so.4: undefined symbol: _ZN11QVectorData4freeEPS_i) When this occurs, some part of konqueror is loaded and begins eating 80% + of the CPU and must be manually killed. What's up with this? Any work-arounds? Anybody else seeing this? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. ** Forgot to add, konqueror WORKS for root, just not for normal users. Makes no sense unless it were a permission issue. That's not possible?? Is it? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Well, /usr/lib64/libqimageblitz.so.4 seems to be incompatible to the currently installed QT library. Did you install libqt4 from the same source? Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes, Everything came from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/43/openSUSE_11.0/. Sven, Since you were so kind enough to tell me a repository is magically no longer maintained, do you have anything of value to add to correct the problem? Please also explain who has been maintaining the 43 repositories quite actively up to 2/4/10?? Looks like those packages were automatically rebuilt. I think the KDE:43 repo will be getting removed soon. KDE:/KDE4:/STABLE:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.0 should have what your looking for. Or you can wait and see if it gets pushed out as an update (though I think I read on the wiki the update may only be for 11.2) Cheers the noo, Graham -- “What can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof.” - Christopher Hitchens -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks Graham, Already switched to STABLE and updated. Same mysterious: undefined symbol: _ZN11QVectorData4freeEPS_i is still killing konqueror though. Many of the packages between the 43 repo and the STABLE repo are the-exact-same major-minor versions (Qt specifically). Will follow up on it in the new thread "[opensuse] KDE 4.3.5 - Konqueror still dead for 'user' after update - undefined symbol: _ZN11QVectorData4freeEPS_i)" I sure wish I knew what a _ZN11QVectorData4freeEPS_i) symbol was....;-) -- David C. Sven,
Since you were so kind enough to tell me a repository is magically no longer maintained, do you have anything of value to add to correct the problem?
Only if you say please to Sven. No, I want to spend my time on issues that do not result from users not sticking to the maintained repos. I posted the URL before and pointed to google as well. If you want to know which repo to use and by whom they are maintained, read: http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/Repositories or http://lmgtfy.com/?q=opensuse+kde+repos 43 is not on that site. That site exists in order to save people time, i.e. not having to explain the same thing to each and everyone all over again.
Please also explain who has been maintaining the 43 repositories quite actively up to 2/4/10??
Why would I need to do that? And who says it was maintained and not just automatically rebuild because some Qt or whatever package it depends on changed? AFAIK it still contains 4.3.4 although STABLe already contains 4.3.5 so who would call that actively maintained?
