I'm thinking of getting an Iomega 750 zip drive. Does this work OK with 9.1? -- Richard Kimber http://www.psr.keele.ac.uk/

A 750mb zip drive? Didn't know they made a zip drive that large. Anyway, you would rather pay $8-12 per disk for that then a paltry 20-30 cents for a cdr, which works better? ;o) Lee -- --- KMail v1.6.2 --- SuSE Linux Pro v9.1 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...

And, if you are prudent and watch carefully, you can find 100ct. cd stacks for us$00.00 after mail-in rebate and the cost becomes tax and stamps, < us$0.02/ea. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos

In what way does it work better? Quicker? And how would I read a CD while it's doing the backup?

Money isn't everything. I wouldn't want to use a CD for a quick end of work session backup. I already have a CD writer anyway. I just wanted to know if there were any technical problems about it workking. -- Richard Kimber http://www.psr.keele.ac.uk/

I guess the same way you would read a Zip disk while you were backing up to it. If you tie a rope on one of my legs and tell me to lift the other, then pull the rope, will I fall down?

Your choice

AFAIK, there would be no difference comapred to using a larger removable usb hard-drive. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos
