Hi everyone If I set a passworded share on a w98 box, then anyone can change it to full access when they log onto that box. Is this corrrect? If they save a file on the 7.3 server in their directory under /home then no one else can access it unless they get the password (none of the /home/ directories appears in smb.conf). Yes? It seems that the clients can only see their home directory. Is this correct? Or is there some other way a client could see someone else's account on the server? Thanks, Steve.

Yes it is.

It should appear the [homes] share in smb.conf

If you do not set up other shares, yes.

Trying to crack the locally stored password file, or rooting the samba server.
Thanks, Steve.
